Raymond Vogelweid, Jr.

Raymond Valentine Vogelweid, Jr. passed away March 13, 2014, at his home in Springfield MO.

Ray was born on March 12, 1936, to Raymond and Norma Vogelweid, Sr.

He is survived by his daughter Courtney Patrick-Vogelweid (Jeff Austermann); his son Blake Vogelweid; three grandchildren, Kelsey Patrick (Shea), Lexie Patrick (James), and Austin Patrick; and one future granddaughter. He is also survived by one brother, Greg Vogelweid (Maggie); two sisters, Norma Vogelweid and Barbara Vogelweid; severals nieces and nephews. He preceded in death by his father, Raymond Vogelweid, Sr.; his mother, Norma Vogelweid; and one sister Annemary Vogelweid.

Ray achieved three bachelors degrees from Washington University. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad where he was employed as an executive controller.

Ray enjoyed so many things in life such as painting, drawing, dancing, teaching and spending time with friends and family.

Ray had a lot of special friends that loved and cared for him as his illness progressed. A very loving thank you to Angel Deno, Judi Picard, Sasha Hughes, Summer Jones, Janice Hicks, Oxford Hospice, Oxford Homecare, and all his doctors and nurses. A very special hug to his wonderful and caring dog, Bingo.

We love you Dad, Grandpa, uncle, brother, friend.

An informal gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Springfield, Missouri, to celebrate Raymond's life.
