Vernon Eugene Labahn
Vernon Eugene Labahn, affectionately known as "Gene" by his many friends and family, passed away in his home on April 7, 2014 at the age of 74, with his loving wife of 25 years, Patti by his side. Together they were avid bowlers and shared a love of Nascar racing.
Gene's wonderful sense of humor and caring ways earned him the love and respect of everyone around him.
Gene was born in Burke, S.D. on March 20, 1940 to Vernon and Iola (Ragan) Labahn, who preceded him in death along with brother, Lyn.
Gene is survived by wife, Patti; five children: Carol (James), Dennis (Lori), Duane (Barb), Sheryl (Rick), Lisa (Ron), James (Julie); 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Melody); seven sisters: Barb, Judy (Verlon), Pat (Jim), Cynthia (Troy), Janet (Tom), Kay, Connie (Jim); numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to thank Mercy Hospice for their care and compassion.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be Friday, April 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
