Robert Scott Balser

Robert Scott Balser was born on August 26, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri and entered into rest on May 29, 2014 at the age of 90. He was the son of Otto G. Balser and Emily M. (Scott) Balser. He attended and graduated from high school in Webster Groves, MO. On June 20th, 1945, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Adeline L. Kochs in St. Louis, MO.

Robert retired from McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis and he, Adeline, and the children moved to the Table Rock Lake area in the early 1960's. Robert became a developer of subdivisions in Stone County along Table Rock Lake. He lived in the Reeds Spring/Table Rock Lake area for 45 years. Needless to say, he loved the beauty of the southern Missouri Ozarks and its lakes. Robert also enjoyed golf and gardening and was always up for an Ozarks exploration to find something new. The greatest joy of his life, though, was his family. Robert spent the last 4 years of his life at The Waterford in Springfield, MO where he made many friends keeping them entertained and playing a lot of Bingo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Emily; his loving wife, "Sweet" Adeline; his son, Robert Balser Jr.; three sisters, Marion Balser, Patricia Koscher, and Jacqueline Ecoff and two special friends, Bernice Wismer and Midge Carby.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Janet Swenty and husband Bruce of Springfield, MO and Debrah Bartlett and husband David of Branson West; his son, Richard Balser of Wylie, TX; one brother, Douglas Balser of Mexico, MO; and one sister, Jeanette Singer of St. Charles, MO. Robert had six grandchildren, Debrah's children, David Alex Bartlett and Lydia Scott Adams; Richard's children, Emily Balser and Eric Balser; Robert Jr's children, Melissa Jean Ollar and Robert Balser III, four great grandchildren as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 3 at 1:30 P.M. in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.
