Randolph Jay "Randy" Long

Randolph Jay "Randy" Long, 64, of the Ash Grove area, passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 6:48 p.m. following a 10 month illness.

Randy, the son of Thomas Neville and Blanche Ophealia (Aldridge) Long, was born in the Ash Grove area, on August 16, 1949, and was a lifelong area resident. He attended Ash Grove Schools and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Randy owned and operated Long's Backhoe and Excavating Company.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Gene, Clyde and Thomas Long, and sister Charlene Dunn

Randy is survived by his loving companion, Debbie Williams; two daughters: Chandra Brooke Anderson of Willard Mo. and Karrie La Shawn Long of Springfield, Mo.; 2 sisters: Jean and husband Larry Mason of Aldrich, Mo. and Ann Breedlove, of Ash Grove, Mo.; 6 brothers: Elgie Lee and wife Willie Long of Independence, Harold and wife Eula Long of Willard, Mo. Eddie and wife Sue Long Ash Grove, Mo., Kenneth and wife Geri Long of Walnut Grove, Mo., Joe Bob and wife Penny Long of Independence and Charles Long of Walnut Grove, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Wilson Brim Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove with Revs Mitch Fisher and Harold Mayes officiating. Interment to following in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Willard, Mo. under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home Ash Grove, Mo.

Family will receive friends Saturday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Ash Grove funeral home chapel.

Memorials may be given, in his memory, to the H.A.Y. Foundation % Dave Koenigsfeld, Treasurer, 2329 River Bluff Dr. Nixa, Missouri 65714.
