James E. (Gene) Iseminger

James Eugene (Gene) "Cannonball" Iseminger, age 91, of Forsyth, MO, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Missouri Veterans Home. He was born July 24, 1922, in Springfield, MO, to James and Melinda Iseminger. He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars for his courageous service. Gene Retired from Colonial Bread Company. He was a member of the Military Order Of The Purple Heart Chapter 784, Forsyth, Missouri. Gene will be remembered as a gentle and kind man who devoted his life to his family and country; he loved to fish and camp.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Josephine (Jo) Iseminger; his parents, James Walter and Melinda Iseminger; one brother; and two sisters. He is survived by one son, Jerry Iseminger and wife Victoria, Republic, MO; one daughter, Joanna Glenn and husband Don, Branson, MO: Three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Gene's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Dr. William Dowell, Jr. officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO
