Ruby Pauline Dutton
Ruby Pauline Dutton passed away on July 28, 2014. She was 97 years old and lived a rich full life. She was born in Marshfield, Missouri to Opal and Louis Farr and had 5 sisters - Dorsey Vorse, Helen Gorman, Georgia Sutherland, Addie Mae Inman, and Celeste Haynes. She taught in a one room school house in Webster county MO after attending SMSU. She married Claude Robert McDonald in 1938 and had two children, Carol Kuhn-Wilson of Edmond OK and Barbara Danley of Nixa MO. Claude died in an auto accident in December of 1944.
She supported her two daughters working at O'Reilly Army Hospital for wounded veterans until it closed in 1946. She then worked at the Moran Hotel as a waitress and rented a room at her home for extra income. She was also very supportive of her five sisters. In 1948, she married Marvin Russell Dutton for 53 wonderful years until his death in 2001. They had two children Clara Jane Elliott of Kansas City, MO. and Ronald Russell Dutton of St. Louis, MO.
Pauline is survived by her sister Dorsey; in-laws and friends, Helen Haynes and Elaine Pfeiffer, among many others.
She has ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Her children are: Carol Kuhn-Wilson of Edmond, OK, Barbara Danley of Nixa, MO, husband Bob, Ron Dutton of St. Louis, MO, wife Nancy and Clara Elliott of Kansas City, MO, husband Scott. The Grandchildren are: Paula Marie Wynn of Maryville, MO husband Ben, Christopher Raymond Kuhn of Rockwall, TX, wife Jodi Laura Marie Pfeiffer of Edmond OK, husband Gary, Dawn Elizabeth Blanche of Kansas City Mo; husband Paul
John Akin of Gladstone, MO, Grant Dutton of Scottsdale, AZ, Marisa Dutton of St. Louis, MO, Elizabeth Ormand of Bentonville, AR, husband Austin, Adrienne Bridge of Portland, OR, husband Patrick, and Rebecca Danley of Nixa, MO; Great Grandchildren: Nick Wynn, Heather Wynn, Sarahbeth Wynn, Madison Pfeiffer, Noah Kuhn, Alexx Pfeiffer, Christian Kuhn, Jordan Kuhn, Makailey Kuhn and Aden Kuhn; Great-Great Grandchildren: Maycie Wynn and Dakota Wynn.
Pauline loved her church and had many friends there. She was member of the Nosegay Garden club and won prizes for her violets. Her life was built around her family and friends whom she and Marvin would go to great length to care for. Being a teacher, she believed strongly in education and saw to it that her children had formal educations.
Visitation for Pauline will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014 with burial to follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
