Louise Blackwell

Louise Blackwell was born June 25, 1934 to Orville Trogd on and Myrtle (Hendrix) Trogdon. She passed away August 6, 2014 in Sonshine Manor in Republic, MO, from renal failure.

Louise was united in marriage to Charlie Blackwell on November 26, 1949. To this union, 2 sons were born.

She retired from the Republic School System with over twenty years of service as a bus driver and elementary school cook. Louise and Charlie were long time members of the Battlefield United Methodist Church.

Charlie and Louise enjoyed 41 years together, and they loved going to flea markets and country music shows with friends. But, to the family, she will best be remembered for her ability to put together delicious meals for the holidays and special occasions. She kept family holiday traditions alive for as long as she could. Thanks, Mom.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie, her half-brother Darrell Trodgon, and step-father, Jack Glidewell.

She is survived by her two sons and spouses, Steve and Linda Blackwell of Brookline; David and Sherry Blackwell of Republic; three grandchildren, Lori Parks and husband Gregg of Republic; Robby Blackwell of Brookline; and Tasha Ganson and husband Josh of Nixa. Two great-grandchildren, Riley Uchtman and Kinsley Ganson, and special friend, Joe Rogers of Sonshine Manor.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Sonshine Manor for their help and care during mom's stay there.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 9, at 1:00 pm at Clear Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it was Louise's request that memorial contributions be made to the Battlefield United Methodist Church, 5475 S. Daniel St. Battlefield, MO 65619. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
