John C. Wilson

Mr. John C. Wilson, age 63, of Republic, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He was born on August 29, 1950 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Carl Anthony and Louise Farrell (King) Wilson.

John had served his country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman in Germany. Later he was employed at the GE factory in Springfield.

On August 17, 1972, John was united in marriage to Gala Louise Brown, in Republic, where they made their home. They had just celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.

John adored his grandchildren, and enjoyed attending their sports activities. He also spent time in his camper that he kept at Truman Lake, where he had a wonderful camaraderie with his hunting and fishing buddies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl; two nephews; and a niece.

John is survived by his wife, Gala; two daughters and their husbands, Sara and Jeff Hamilton, and Leah and Bobby Crouse; eight grandchildren, Blake, Wes, and Nic Daigh, Tate and Carter Hamilton, and step grandchildren, Kerik, Cooper, and Caleb Crouse; his mother, Louise; siblings, Garry, Steve, and Dale Wilson, Toni Britain, and David Wilson; two friends that were loved like a brother, Kenny Moore, and like a son, Clint Moore; nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companions, Lilly, Lucy, and Jessie.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Burial will follow in Wade Chapel Cemetery, Republic. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Republic Paw Pantry, P.O. Box 670, Republic, Mo. 65738.
