Mr. Clarence Lee Logan, age 78, Springfield, formerly of Republic, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, after an extended illness.
He graduated from Hurley High School in 1954. Clarence served in the U.S. Army in South Korea. He shared his love of Jesus by serving as the Outdoors Leader at Baptist Hill Church Camp for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and many other outdoor activities.
Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Everette Leroy Logan and his mother, Viva Lea (Smart) Logan, who died in childbirth; and grandparents who raised him, Lem and Liddie Logan.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Emily Logan; five children and their spouses, James Logan, Sarah Girth (Jeff), Robert Logan (Deana), Kathy Logan-Frank (Perry), and Judy Cantrell (Doug); five grandchildren and a great grandchild who love and miss him; four siblings, Calvin Logan (Rosealee), Phyllis Jean Logan, Sharon Kay Edwards, and Barbara Ann Logan; and other relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation from 4-6 P.M., today, Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 18, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Clarence be sent to Baptist Hill Assembly at 6519 Highway V, Mount Vernon, Missouri 65712.
