Richard Wayne Stockton, 64, passed away in Port Isabel TX on December 20, 2012. Richard was born on June 30, 1948 in Springfield MO to Laverne and Gertrude (Trudy) Stockton.
After graduating from Marshfield High School, he graduated with a degree in music education from Drury University in Springfield MO where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Richard taught music at Springfield middle schools, junior high schools and finally was band director at Springfield's Central High School for a number of years. Subsequently, Richard moved to South Padre Island, TX and began a career as a professional photographer. He developed a substantial list of photography cliental for many years up until the time of his death. Richard left a monumental legacy of thousands of beautiful pictures of people, pets, landscapes and events treasured by hundreds of people throughout the country.
Richard is survived by his father, Frank Laverne Stockton and a brother Donald Stockton both of Marshfield MO, and sister Cheryl Stockton of Collinsville IL.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield MO. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until service time.
Interment in the Marshfield cemetery is planned for a later date.
