Thelma Jean Grier

Thelma Jean Grier, 80, of Rogersville was born on October 23, 1932 to Jake Clifford Galloway and Chestine Alma "Kelley" Galloway in Galloway, MO. She joined the Lord for the eternal peace after a short battle with cancer in her home on Thursday, January 24, 2013 with her children present.

Thelma was a graduate of Rogersville High School class of 1951 and was married to Cecil Ray Grier on August 9, 1951 and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2009. She was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ, had been active in JFA, Busy Beavers 4-H Club, Webster County Fair, Pleasant Panthers Community Club, Rogersville Jr. Livestock, PTA, and Webster County Extension.

Surviving is her son Tim Grier of the home; three daughters Nancy Wittmaier and husband David of Highlandville, Donna Cole and husband Boyd of Springfield, and Ronda Hardgrave and husband Bill of Auburn, AL; brother Joe Galloway and wife Ivyonne of Fordland; sisters in law Mary Runtzel of Waynesville, Pat Reed and husband Harold and Jeannie Rimmer all of Springfield; six grandchildren David Wittmaker, Laura Bodenstein and Neil, Ben Cole and Brandy, Jesse Cole and Amy, Rachel Hardgrave and Gavin Hardgrave, eight great grandchildren Alyson Bodenstein, Clair Bodenstein, Josh Wittmaier, Lauren Wittmaier, Ezra Cole, Ever Mae Cole, Ella Cole and Finley Cole.

We celebrate her life and will remember her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend of the community. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 in the Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, Rogersville with burial in the Panther Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
