Nancy Marie Lederer Stark Alexander was born in Springfield on November 11, 1919 and passed away May 1, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents Casper and Gladys Lederer, brothers; Charles and Lyman, sister; June, her first husband Douglas Stark and daughter Cindy.

She is survived by her husband Lowell Alexander, daughters Nancy Susan Miller and Pam and Tony Slavens, Lowell's daughter Sandy and husband John Glasner; and grandchildren Mimi Johnson, Jenny Shourd, Tammy Miller, Michele Kelso, Kelly Jo Roy, Angela Grussing, Nancy Lehar, Michael Lehar, Tyler and Amy Slavens and Douglas Slavens. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren.

She was a member of PEO, Saturday Club, Les Arts De Mardi, and Frisco Women's Club. She was a former supervisor for Welcome Wagon. She served on numerous boards in her lifetime, among them, Sheltered Workshop, Art Museum and she helped start the Crosslines Toy giveaway at Christmas in the gymnasium of Grant Avenue Baptist Church. Nancy never saw a need that she didn't try to fill.

Her daughters would like to thank Lowell for his constant love and care these past 23 years. Also, thanks to Michele and Whitney Kelso for their love and care every day of her illness, Dr. Huang, her staff and all the nurses and caregivers on the 3rd floor of Cox South and the special people of the Cedars Neighborhood at Quail Creek for the sweet care she received there.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 6:00pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Janet Given officiating. Burial will be at a later date in National Cemetery.
