Roger C. Young, Jr., 59 of Springfield, MO, was born on November 28, 1953 to Roger C. and Martha (Snider) Young, Sr. He passed away on June 23, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Roger lived life to serve. Being in the auto industry he loved cars and enjoyed relationships with customers and co-workers alike. He spent the majority of his career as a Professional Driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, which he retired from after 28 years of safe & excellent service. He always saw these careers as a way fulfill his main objective, to protect and provide for his family.
He had one daughter, a son-in-law and three grandchildren that he was extremely proud to call his own. He was married to Betty on June 17, 1999. They loved spending their time together and with their granddaughter Calisa Grace White. Shortly after the sorrow of Betty's passing in 2006, grandson Joseph arrived and became his buddy "Little Joe". A few years later granddaughter Eliana came along to bring him joy and laughter. He loved to be with his family and he took care of the older generations of family honoring them without complaint as he fulfilled their wishes even to his hardship. He cared for so many others we cannot begin to name them all. He was always ready with a joke or to pick at you and make you smile. See you on the other side Daddy, we can hardly wait to hear how much better everything is in the presence of Jesus.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Joni White and her husband Chuck; 3 grandchildren, Calista Grace, Joseph Christopher and Eliana Mae; and a host of family and friends. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Young; parents; brother, Robert Young; sisters, Frankie Johnston and Barbara Payne.
