Bruce Lincoln

Bruce Lincoln, 59, born January 31, 1954 to Warren F. (deceased) and Thelma Lincoln (Davis) in Oxnard, CA. He left this world suddenly at his earthly home to join our Heavenly Father on October 6, 2013.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Lori (Vonnahme) and their children Angi of Springfield and Jason of Washington, DC, his favorite mother-in-law, Marge Vonnahme, one sister, Linda (Lee) Gray of Oxnard, CA, and a host of family and friends.

He proudly served his country while in the Air Force for 9 years. He then settled in the Springfield area, working for the United States Postal Service as a clerk for 30 years.

Bruce loved a "road trip" traveling with the love of his life, Lori. His favorite paradise island was Kauai, Hawaii, where they were joined in marriage. He enjoyed his classic cars and the many friends he made in G.R.O.O.V.E. His dedication of service to the American Postal Workers Union representing his coworkers will be surely missed, as the "struggle continues" to Save our Post Office.

Bruce enjoyed being an active supporter of the local AFL-CIO fundraisers for local charities. He had an avid interest in many sports from power-kiting at Chesterfield Park to watching NASCAR, the Cardinals, and the Chiefs.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to one of the charities that Bruce supported, the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and the American Diabetes Association.

A celebration of his life with a gathering of friends will be held Thursday, October 10, from 9am to 8pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with open attendance.
