Dean W. Agnew
STGCS(SW) Ret., Dean Woodrow Agnew, 66, of Ozark, MO, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013. The son of Hugh and Dorothy (Woodrow) Agnew, Dean was born April 20, 1947, in Seneca, KS. He graduated from Seneca Public High School in 1965, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968. Dean proudly served his country for 25 years, decorated with over 15 medals, ribbons and awards, until his retirement in 1993. Dean married Marcia Ann Barnhart in 1997, and she survives. He went on to earn his Bachelors of Education from MSU, and taught at Greenfield High School and Reed Middle School. He enjoyed bird hunting and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and KU fan. Dean was a long-time member of American Legion Post #639, VFW and Senior Enlisted Academy. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Wanda and William Barnhart. Dean leaves behind five children; daughter, Kristen Kramer and husband, John; daughter, Marcy Richter and husband, Rick; son, Hugh (Bud) Agnew and wife, Mindy; stepdaughter, LeAnn Williams and fiancé, Steve Fisher; and stepson, Nathan Rotramel; eleven grandchildren, Miranda German, Nicholas German, Mariah Agnew, Matthew Agnew, Brianna Rotramel, Arsen Rotramel, Hailee Richter, Alexandra Kramer, Adrean Yost, Kristine Yost, Monte Yost, and Charles Yost; and sister, Debbie Aylward and husband, Joe. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 5pm to 7pm, with funeral service Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 11:00am, both at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. Committal service with full military honors, including procession led by Patriot Guard Riders, will be at 1:00pm, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
