James Robert Osburn Obituary
James Robert Osburn, age 63, Republic, MO, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in his home with family at his side. He was born June 25, 1950 in Maryville, MO, to Robert Alvin and Patsy Ann (Hagee) Osburn.

Fresh out of college, James began his first career as school teacher and basketball coach, in Mt. View, MO, Omaha and Mammoth Springs, AR. Later, he entered the insurance business where he worked with American Family Insurance, and, as an Independent Agent. His many years of dedication in the insurance business earned him membership at the Million Dollar Round Table. He was a member of the Republic Kiwanis Club.

James was united in marriage to Janice Williamson on March 10, 1973. This union was blessed with three children, Darren, Laura, and Erin. James and Janice have made their home and raised their children in Republic for 31 years. Jim enjoyed watching his children's activities, particularly, the sports activities. He also loved to travel.

Jim's father and a sister, Cyndy Osburn preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Janice, of the home; his children and their spouses, Darren and Sandra Osburn and Laura and Tim Farquhar, all of St. Louis, MO, and Erin and Dustin Leighty, Marshfield, MO; his mother, Patsy Ann Osburn, and a brother, Lance Osburn, both of Branson, MO; seven grandchildren, Arul, Emery, Devan, Leah, Amelia, Campbell, and Hadley; and numerous other relatives and friends.

There will be a visitation 6-8 PM, Monday, May 12, 2014, at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, also, in the funeral home. The body will be cremated, at James' request.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to Castaway Animal Rescue Effort, (C.A.R.E.), P. O. Box 215, Aurora, MO 65605, or memorials may be left at the funeral home.
