I miss and love you dearly... Not a day has gone by that I haven't cried for you... I loved being your girlfriend and going everywhere together... Now I feel lost and empty... My heart stayed buried 6 ft under ground as I watched you go down... I love you, angel!!!

Daniel,

You were one of my best friends, and I don't know what I will do knowing I can't call you or text you to get advice. You were an amazing person with a love for having a full life. I will miss you every day and always think about the stupid stories we had. You will always be with me. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Love you always my dear friend,

Debra S

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Rose family for their terrible loss.

Daniel,

As I've always told you, you were definitely one of a kind. Never met someone with so much honor and pride in all that you do. You have taught me so much in the short time that we knew each other and I am extremely honored to have had that time with you. There will never be a day that I won't think about you. I will miss you forever.

Love Always

Daniel:

I never met you but I am proud to say that I do know your loving mother and THE strongest woman I know, Teresita.

It's a shame I had to learn about you under these circumstances. However, your story, tragic as it may be, has moved me deeply as a person. You were special to everyone you knew. Your life has inspired me to want to better myself on a personal & professional level. I got your mamma's back, too ;)

You will be truly missed. You were an incredibly being. Enjoy the open roads of heaven with your little sister ...

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Daniel Rose our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Dan. And to Dan it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving in the U.S. Army. Dan, no greater patriotism is shown than a soldier devotes his life in service to his country. We bid you a sad farewell. While you will be dearly missed from among our ranks, you will always be remembered for your dedicated and loyal service to our great nation. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Dan's family and loved ones.
