Joseph "Jay" Scafuri, Jr. August 22, 2016 Joseph " Jay" Jonathan Scafuri, Jr., 33, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2016. Joseph was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, but moved to Lee County when he was five years old. He called Cape Coral his home. He attended Cape Coral High School. Joseph was an entrepreneur and started Conware LCC and enjoyed estate sales, wholesale-resale. His charismatic nature drew people to him and he never hesitated to lend a hand to help others. His passion was cars, people and the gift for stories. He adored his wife and was her rock and supported her in her bail bond business. He is survived by his wife Nancy Kelly Scafuri; mother Linda Anderson, Father Joseph Jonathan Scafuri Sr, sister Angela Scafuri, brother Michael Scafuri, stepdaughters Victoria Kass, Lauren Thomas and sister-in-law Joan Madera. He will be missed by everyone. Rest in Peace. He left a touch of love in each person's heart. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Saturday September 3, 2016 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. The family will receive friends for viewing Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. Cape Coral. Lowell C. Smith, PH.D. August 25, 2016 Lowell C. Smith, PH.D., age 85 of Cape Coral, Florida and Clanton, Alabama died August 25, 2016. He was the husband of Annella Trobaugh Smith and of the late Eleanor (Mann) Smith. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Cyrus and Ruth (Hildebrand) Smith. Dr. Smith had been the President of Nichols College, Dudley, Massachusetts for 18 years; concurrently, he was the President of Worcester Junior College and Central New England College of Technology in Worcester, MA. Previously he held academic positions at George Washington University in Washington, DC., Loyola University in New Orleans, LA., Bryant College in Springfield, RI. and Director of the GW University Academic Program at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL. Dr. Smith had been a director of Amica Mutual Insurance Company for 22 years. He served on the finance, audit, executive compensation and nominating committees. He held memberships in the Dedaleous Society, the Philadelphia Society, Mont Peldrin Society, Council for National Policy, Heritage Foundation, Blue Key National Honors Fraternity, and Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic Honorary Business Fraternity, among others. He is retired military Navy Captain of 20 years, and was an airline pilot. He leaves two daughters, Kim Frease (Jerry), of Cape Coral, FL and Allison Mann of Alpharetta, GA; one son Scott Smith of Jackson, LA; three grandchildren Charles Nagle (Veronica) of Cape Coral, FL, Jesse Nagle of Cape Coral, FL and Beverly Schuler (Jonathan) of Cincinnati, OH, and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of Norman Smith (Merinda) of Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Smith was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Clanton, AL. He was affiliated with All Souls Episcopal Church in North Ft. Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, PO Box 2121, Clanton, AL. 35046, or Servants in Faith and Technology (SIFAT), 2944 County Road 113, Lineville, AL 36266, or to your favorite charity. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 503 Second Avenue South, Clanton, AL 35045 on Monday, August 29, 2016. Visitation will be at 10:00AM, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00AM.

Ronald A. Smith August 18, 2016 Ron Smith, 72, passed away at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida on August 18th, 2016. Ron was born on October 23rd, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his Bachelor's Degree from University of Cincinnati and his MBA from Xavier University. He married Donna Bauer on June 19th, 1965, and together they raised their twin daughters. They were happily married until Donna's death in 2004. Ron worked in the finance industry and retired in 1998 from McDonald & Company. Ron and Donna moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Bonita Springs. Ron enjoyed fishing, cooking, computer games, fishing trips with his friends, and watching the NBA. He was beyond thrilled when his favorite team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, won the NBA Championship in June, 2016! Ron is survived by his twin daughters, Rachel Quade (Rick) and Becky Weber (Brad), his four grandsons- Alex and Steven Quade and Adam and Grant Weber, his nephews and niece- Rick Smith, Patty Petrick, Neal Smith, Mark Smith, Paul Smith, and Scott Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Smith, his parents Paul and Helen Smith, and his brother, Paul Smith. Services will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 at Shikany's Funeral Home in Bonita Springs. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, with a service to follow at 3:00 PM.
