Corinne G. Henderson, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2012, at Hope Hospice, in Fort Myers, Florida, after a long period of declining health. She was 76.

Corny, as she was known to her friends, was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1936, to Bena and Art Groscop, and still keeps many friends in the Detroit area. She was a graduate of Kingswood/Cranbrook Girls High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and later graduated from the University of Michigan. It was at the University of Michigan where she met and married Robert (Bob) Henderson. Together, they brought their two sons into the world, Frederick Arthur (Fritz) Henderson, and Douglas Lawrence (Doug) Henderson. To her last day, Corny took great pride in how her two sons became loving husbands and fathers.

Corny enjoyed a wide social circle, with friends reaching as far away as California, Massachusetts, Washington and Texas. After moving to Florida in 1995, she continued her many volunteer and social activities, including her work at the Pink Bazaar at Lee Memorial Hospital, her involvement in the Fort Myers PEO organization, and the Garden Club. It was in Florida where she met her long time companion, John Tatu.

Corny is survived by her son Fritz, her daughter-in-law Karen, and her two grand-daughters Sarah and Emily; and by her son Doug, her daughter-in-law Jane, and her grandson Bobby and granddaughter Stephanie.

To honor Corny's life, her sons Fritz and Doug will be hosting a reception for her friends in Florida on Sunday, November 4th, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, at Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida.
