Edward Anson More II of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on July 28, 2013.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri January 3, 1917. The son of Enoch Anson More and Katherine Tutt More. He graduated from the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri in 1939. He was the Assistant Advertising Manager of Emerson Electric Co. in St Louis and Advertising Manager of the Industrial Division of Westinghouse of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he coined the slogan "YOU CAN BE SURE IF IT'S WESTINGHOUSE". He joined the FORMICA Corp. in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1955 as their first Advertising Manager and held several Marketing positions including the Western Marketing Director for the West Coast for 6 years. He retired from the FORMICA Corp. as Vice President of Merchandising in 1981. While with the FORMICA Corp. he served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) for 14 years becoming President in 1977 and 1978. He was selected as the "The Remodeler of the Year" in 1978. Ed was involved in Scouting all his life, from and Eagle Scout, to Scout Master of Troop 6 in St. Louis, and was the Public Relations Manager for the Daniel Boone Chapter of the Boy Scouts in Cincinnati, Ohio. He and his wife Christine Bercaw More moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1979 and he formed the Graduate Chapter of PHI GAMMA DELTA fraternity in Ft. Myers and Naples, Florida. Ed received the Prestigious distinguished Service Award from the National Fraternity in 1990 and The Scholarship Fund is named in his honor. He served as President for 7 years.

Ed was an avid golfer for 80 years, beginning with his High School Golf team that won the St. Louis High School Golf Championship in 1935. While living in Cape Coral, Florida at various times he belonged to the Forest Country Club, Vines Country Club, Cypress Lakes Country Club and the Myerlee Country Club. He also belonged to the Seminole Lakes Country Club in Punta Gorda and formed the Men's White Card League. Over his 80 years in golf he made one (1) "HOLE IN ONE" in 1990 at the Vines Country Club.

He collected hats from each one of the Golf Courses he played all around the world. In 2012 he was made an Honorary Member of the Myerlee Country Club in Cape Coral, Florida for serving as the Chairman of the Fund Raising Campaign to repair all of the Golf Cart paths at the Club. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Charity Organization CIRCUS SAINTS AND SINNERS and retired as Vice President.

Ed was a member of the Elks Lodge of Cape Coral, and an experienced photographer and won several Photo Awards. As a writer he wrote and published Three (3) genealogies of his family, his wife Christine's family and his own Autobiography. Ed is survived by his dearly beloved wife Christine Bercaw More of almost 50 years, his sons, Edward A. More III and his wife Debby, and Stephen Chase More, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a step-daughter, M. Cheryl Lewis and her husband Bill, of Sun City Center, Florida. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. His son Terry More and stepdaughter, Karen L Gourley predeceased him.

Service will be held on Friday, August 2, at 11:00AM at Cape Coral First United Methodist Church, 4118 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
