Gaze "Gus" Podlovits, age 93 passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice on June 25, 2013.

Gus was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances and is survived by his daughters Anna Jaklitsch (Rudy) of Palo Alto, CA; Kathy Choquette (Chuck) of Fort Myers FL; Joan of Norwalk, CT and his two granddaughters, Renee

and Laura Jaklitsch. He is also survived by his brothers Richard of South Plainfield, NJ and Robert of Queens NY and many nieces and nephews.

Gus was born on Oct. 25, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio. His family moved to New York City before high school where he later met and married Frances in 1948. Gus was a US Army WWII veteran, a shoemaker by trade before he retired to the Tara Woods Senior Community in North Fort Myers in 1986. He was a very active "senior" enjoying tennis, bicycling, card games, bingo and working with stained glass. Gus never missed an opportunity to go dancing with his girl, Frances. He loved to travel and visited many places in the US as well as going on cruises with his wife and many friends over the years. Burial will be private in Queens, NY in the fall.
