Lloyd F. Currie, Jr. went home to his Maker on March 27, 2014 after a lengthy illness in N. Fort Myers, FL.

He was born in Duluth, MN to Lloyd F. Currie, Sr. and Mille (Lowe) Currie on April 30, 1924.

Lloyd graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1942. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and soon after accepted a Commission in the Marine Air Corps as a pilot.

He served during WWII in The Phillippines and China. He flew over 180 missions and was awared three Distinguished Flying Crosses and 17 Air Medals. Lloyd's military career included combat service in the Korean War and service in the Marine Reserves until 1964 attaining the rank of Major.

Lloyd was a 32nd Degree Grand Mason, a Shriner, and a 50-year member of Grand Lodge of Minnesota. He lived in Duluth until 1976 when he moved to Ft. Myers with his wife, Lois Lee.

Lloyd loved the game of golf, starting as a teen-age caddie at Northland Country Club in Duluth. When he moved to Ft. Myers, he opened a golf shop on McGregor Boulevard and then Master Golf in N. Fort Myers. At one time he owned over 85,000 golf clubs. Lloyd loved to play golf and played rounds with his kids and friends when ever he had a chance.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Lois Lee Currie; five daughters, Millie, Sally, Nancy, Terry, and Tammy; one son Jaime; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Lloyd was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church for 38 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April, 26th at First United Methodist Church, 2466 First Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901 at 1PM.
