Richard "Dick" Donald Baum

Richard "Dick" Donald Baum, 80, of Cape Coral, formally of Mass, passed away Friday November 23, 2012 at Gulf Coast Village. He was born May 24, 1932 in Rockland, Maine. Following high school he served three years honorably in the U.S. Army. After serving his country he enrolled at the University of Maine where he earned his B.S. in Economics. Following graduation he worked for a Boston Insurance company in the claims department. He later joined Holyoke Mutual Insurance of Salem, Mass where he later became a Vice President. During his 25 years there he served on several claims committees in New England and nationally. He retired to Florida in 1993 where he enjoyed bowling, pool and dinner dances at several organizations he belonged to.

Dick is survived by his wife Sally, daughters Mary Baum of Mass, and Amy (Jeff) Robinson of NH and two grandchildren Margaret & Jack.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday December 1, 2012 at Fuller Metz Funeral Home.
