Robert Johnston Langlands was born on July 1, 1923 in Bridge On The Wier, Scotland. He came to this country at the age of one and grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where he graduated from Southeastern High School in 1941.

During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corp. After the war he tried various pursuits until he was recalled to active duty for the Korean War. He decided to make the Air Force his career, where he rose to the rank of Lt. Col. until he retired in 1974.

He leaves a wife, Charlotte in Cape Coral, a son, Graig, and daughter-in-law, Charlene, in Ft. Myers, and a daughter, Cindy, in California.

Services will be held at the Gulf Coast Village on Monday, December 2 at 2:00 pm.

Donations to his memory may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church or Hope Hospice.
