Born December 4, 1923 in St. Louis Missouri to Harold and Virginia Benson, passed away November 5, 2012, from an ongoing illness.

He graduated in 1942 from South West High School, St. Louis Missouri. He later joined the army, field artillery, and was wounded in the Alutian Islands. He attended Washington University and married Reigene Tobler on December 9, 1944.

He is survived by his wife Reigene, two daughters, Susan Pechmann and Merrilee Dauer, four grand-daughters, Kathleen and Justin Davidson, Keri and Justin McCoy, Shellie and David Soderdahl, Stacy Dauer and fiancé Rick Teschky, 2 great granddaughters, Eden McCoy and Brianna Broome.

Bob worked for Durkee Famous Foods for 31 years, and retired as District Sales Manager in 1981. He served as member and President of the Affton School Board from 1959 to 1967 in Affton, MO.

Bob and Jean then retired to Fort Myers, Florida in 1982 and became active at Araba Shrine Center driving the Children's Hospital van to Tampa, Florida. He operated the " Araba Little Store" at the center and served as President of the Hospitality Unit.

He was elected to the Divan in 1992 and served as Potentate in 1997. He and Reigene moved to Leander, Texas in 2005 to be near family.

A memorial service will be held on November 16, 2012.
