ROY "CHIEF" HENRY KRATT

Roy "Chief" Henry Kratt, 88 passed away May 3, 2013. Born in Akron, Ohio on July 14, 1924, he is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Annie Kratt. Roy is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughter, Meredith (John) Rodgers , sons, Gary, Richard (Nicki), Robert (Nancy), and Ron Kratt, step-children, Charlene (John) Steakley and Jim Imperatore. Roy also leaves grandchildren, Kristie Peppers, Stephen Kratt, Ryan Kratt, Alison Wernicke, Aaron Kratt, Quintin Kratt, Jessica Kratt, Kaitlin and Michaela Steakley, and Hillary Robbins, great-grandchildren Amber, Morgan, Tyler, Katie Peppers, Lana Wernicke.

A career Navy WWII, Korean and a Vietnam Era Vet, Mr. Kratt recently received his long overdue Purple Heart from injuries he sustained in 1942 when his ship was sunk. He served his country with honor and was a true American Hero.

Mr. Kratt moved to Cape Coral in 1962 and was the owner of Craftsman Press until his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Power Squadron.

Loved by all and known as "Chief", Roy loved life and was an avid sailor, pilot and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
