Walter Wendell Foster

Walter Wendell Foster, age 89, of Fort Myers, FL passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 following a sudden injury.

He was born on February 10, 1923 in Punta Gorda, FL, the proud son of Reba (Ewell) and Walter L. Foster. He was a resident of Fort Myers throughout his youth.

Even at a young age, Walter showed great skill in the field of electrical construction. He put that talent to work during World War II and became the youngest Journeyman Electrician to serve in the United States Navy. He returned to Fort Myers until moving to Indianapolis, IN in 1948. Thereafter, he became an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 66 years and entered the Masonic Lodge, eventually becoming a 32nd Degree Mason. In 1985, he retired and then relocated back to Fort Myers where he always enjoyed being a member of the Orange Harbor Boat Club for Life.

Walter leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his sons: Lewis (Jane) and Alan (Anne) Foster and his daughter, Laura Giannini; his sister, Joan (Jack) Wittenborn; six grandchildren: Dax Foster, Brock Foster, Carrie Vandergoore, Mandy Kishpaugh, Adam Giannini and Justin Foster. He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren, numerous extended family and countless others who were proud to call him a friend. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Kitty Sue Foster, son Stephen Foster and sisters Doris Carver and Barbara Harrison.
