JAMES WILLS Obituary

James Bowling Wills

January 8, 2013

James Bowling Wills, 84, passed away on January 8, 2013, of natural causes in Fort Myers, Florida. "Bow" Wills was the loving husband for sixty-one years of Cynthia Safford Wills, who passed away on October 18, 2012. Born on February 9, 1928, Bow was the son of Francis Reed and Madeline Hayward Wills of Allentown, PA. Bow attended Portsmouth Abbey School and Yale University, where he graduated in 1949. A lifelong benefactor of many charities, Bow believed that his efforts on behalf of DeSales University in Center Valley, PA, and a halfway house for drug rehabilitation in Allentown, PA, were the most significant. He was an active member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Fort Myers. Survivors: He will be fondly remembered by his six children, Jim, Cindy, Ted, Reed, Tom, and Mary and also seven grandchildren. Services: a memorial service will be held at his home in Cypress Cove, 10200 Cypress Cove Drive, Fort Myers on Friday, January 11 at 2pm. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of J. Bowling Wills to the Children's Craniofacial Association, 13140 Coit Road, Suite 517, Dallas, TX 75240 or donate online in memory of Bow at www.ccakids.org

One of my earliest memories of Allentown, Pennsylvania was the warmth, kindness, and example of Cynthia and Bowling Wills. It was more than sixty years ago and seems like yesterday. Many, many people will feel a lasting loss.

Glen and I always enjoyed both Bo and Cindy. They were good bridge players, and very nice people.Gloria Gaynorli

Bow & cynthia were very good frieds of mine, and I miss them dearly. In fact, we were the first ones they met when they moved to Golf View and we took them to church with us that evening. They lived above me in 307 Pebble Beach for several years before they moved into Augusta. We enjoyed playing bridge together.
God Bless both of them. They are back together again.
