Charles "Bob" Anspach of Bokeelia, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 16, 1930 to Charles and Juanita. Bob has been a caring and loving husband to Deborah for the past 29 years.
He attended Cal Aero Technical Institute where he graduated as an Aircraft Mechanic in June 1951 and was a pilot in the United States Air Force until 1954. Bob had the opportunity and good fortune to fly many exciting airplanes including a P-51 Mustang and in 1980 he broke the world speed record in the Cleveland Air Show Races for Formula One racing. Bob and his plane are featured in the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a speed enthusiast and his hobbies ranged from his Aerobatics/ Speed Racing team the "Pole Kat" Squadron and building sports cars to going for a round of golf. Bob was a member of the Masons, EAA and the NRA.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, brother Carl, son Bob Jr. (Martha), daughter Laura Thomas, step-daughter Julia Simpson and her fiancé Paul Thomas, step-daughter Jennifer (Kirk) Reese, grandson Todd (Julie), his grandson Jon (Lizzie), Angela (Joseph) Amador, Amy Adamic, his grandchildren Kirsten Reese, Clara Ambrose, Kaitlin and Paige Reese, Nathaniel and Banner Reese and his great-grandchildren Jeremy and Damian Adamic.
A visitation will be held between 12 - 2pm on Friday, March 16th at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery with service with military honors and entombment to follow.
Bob will be loved and missed dearly and will live forever in our hearts.
