Dale Everett Walcutt

Dale Everett Walcutt, 92, passed away after a brief illness in Fort Myers, FL. Born in Benton, OH to Rollie Mason Walcutt and Blanche Margaret (Newman) Walcutt, he lived most of his life in Tiffin, OH.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irene E. (Egbert) Walcutt. He is also survived by his daughters, Nancy J. Doemel (William N.), Crawfordsville, IN, and Ann E. Kohler (John P.), Bogart, GA. He will be missed by grandchildren Elizabeth A. Brown (David), Monroe, GA; Christopher D. Doemel, Lansing, MI; and Grant P. Kohler (Katherine), Winston-Salem, NC; and by great-grandchildren Hannah L. Brown and Megan V. Brown, both of Monroe, GA. He also has one surviving brother, Kenneth W. Walcutt, Lee's Summit, MO.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Gerald G. Walcutt, sisters Ardis L. (Walcutt) Gracier and Marilyn J. Walcutt.

Dale graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1938 and from Tiffin Business University in 1941. He had a 39-year career in sales and service of hot and cold forging equipment with National Machinery Company in Tiffin, OH.

His passion for golf began when he caddied and played at Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin, eventually leading him to enjoy retirement golf at Fiddlesticks Country Club, Fort Myers, FL and Sapphire Lakes Country Club, Sapphire, NC. His love of woodworking came late in his life, but his talented hands and inventive mind provided hours of volunteer service projects for his family, friends and neighbors. His positive attitude, poetry writing, story telling, interest in people, and vast repertoire of jokes endeared him to many.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin and of Fort Myers Congregational United Church of Christ. His other memberships included Tiffin Ohio Masonic Lodge No. 77, Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 189, Tiffin Elks, Great Lakes Senior Golf Association, Eastern States Seniors Golf Association, and the Quarter Century Club of National Machinery Company.

A reception honoring Dale's life will be held at Cypress Cove, 10100 Cypress Cove Dr., Fort Myers on Friday, March 2 from 2 - 4 PM.

A private family celebration of Dale's life will occur later in Watkinsville, GA.
