Denise Haupt was born on June 4, 1927 in London, England to Henry Wilkins and Catherine Doherty. As a child, she survived the bombing of London, during the Second World War. She studied in England, earning a Doctorate degree in English Language and Literature. In 1964, she immigrated to Ontario, Canada where she met her husband. In 1966, she immigrated to the United States anDenised began working as a journalist for a trade magazine the "Wisconsin Agriculturalist". During the 1980's, she was an Assistant Professor in
English Literature, Drama and Costume design at Carthage College, Kenosha, WI. In 1968, she married Helmut J. Haupt who was an Industrial Engineer and
entrepreneur. Denise had an active and vibrant mind. She possessed a natural curiosity about the world and loved traveling, learning, and spending time with her family. Denise Haupt passed away in her family home in Cape Coral on February 18, 2013. Her daughter Katie Pitcel and son-in-law Erik Eaton attended to her every need, in her final days. She is survived by her husband Helmut J. Haupt, daughter Katie Pitcel of
Cape Coral, son-in-law Erik Eaton, son Jeremy Haupt of Boston, Massachusetts, grandchildren Alexander J. Pitcel and Emily Pitcel. She will be missed by many dear friends, including her friends at Calusa Harbour, who filled her life full to the brim with laughter and
