Herbert Paul Blauel, 91, of Cape Coral, FL died on September 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born on June 17, 1921 on Staten Island, NY, a child of Philippert and Josephine (Schlaich) Blauel.

A resident of Cape Coral for the past 34 years, he previously lived on Staten Island where he was employed as the Chief Inspector for the Staten Island Ferry, retiring in 1976 after 20 years of service. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Cape Coral.

Husband of the late Ethel Louise (Mark) Blauel, he is survived by his daughters, Louise Pecka of Cape Coral, FL and Ann West (Craig Webb) of Hillsboro, NH, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:00AM for the souls of Herbert and Ethel Blauel in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral.
