John Robert "Bob" McCormick

John Robert "Bob" McCormick was born on March 20, 1936 in Seymour, IN to his parents John Dean and Helen Kasting McCormick. He passed away on December 6, 2016 in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 80.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Marilyn Weber McCormick; children Robert McCormick, Diane (Scott) Bassett, John (Meredith) McCormick; grandchildren Katie, Kelly, Michael, Sean, and Mac; and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bob was raised in Louisville, KY where he met the love of his life Marilyn in the sixth grade. Bob and Marilyn lived within a stone's throw away from each other. They were married in 1957 and were blessed with 59 years of marriage.
Bob graduated from University of Kentucky and was a life-long rabid Wildcat/Blue Nation fan. After graduation, Bob became a pharmacist in Louisville, Kentucky and later became a pharmaceutical sales representative for Abbott Laboratories. He then went on to launch a pharmaceutical advertising agency in Chicago, Abelson & Taylor and retired in 1996 to Fort Myers, FL.
Bob was an avid boater and enjoyed boating in Lake Michigan and the waters of Florida. Bob was elected the Commander of the Sanibel-Captiva Sail & Power Squadron and cherished the friends he made through boating.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Gulf Harbour, Ft. Myers, FL from 10:30 am - 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Hope Hospice in memory of Bob. Please visit www.harvey-engelhardt.com to leave a condolence to his family.
