John "Augie" Petroshus, 89, passed away August 12, 2013. He was born August 8, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Stephanie (Ivaskevicius) Petroshus. In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by sons, Jeffrey and John Jr. and sister, Wanda Plunge.

Augie served our country in the US Navy and retired to Lee County Florida after 47 years of driving truck for RR Donneley Printing in Chicago. He was a 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus and dressed up as their Santa Claus every year at Christmas. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and enjoyed boating, gardening and swimming.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Virginia; children, Jean Ann DeMeis of Leonox, Illinois; Judy Mastin and her husband Bill of Arizona; James Petroshus and his wife Darlene of Tucson, Arizona; and Joe Petroshus and his wife Jean of Tucson, Arizona; step-children, Ann Henzler and her husband George of Missouri; Pamela Clair and her husband Ron of Bridgeview, Illinois; and Richard Richardson and his wife Pat of Tinley Park, Illinois; grandchildren, Maria, Karen, Peter, Susan, Christine, Stephanie, Julie, Ronnie, Lisa, Carly and Kimberly.

There will be a visitation Sunday, August 18th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 19th at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.
