Michael (Mike) W. Brown, 68, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away April 30, 2013 under the caring hands of Hope Hospice.

Born in Batavia, New York on March 19, 1945 to Frederick and Norma Brown, Mike has resided in Fort Myers for 30 years. He lived his life to the fullest, enjoying and staying active with his many hobbies. Mike enjoyed the company of his friends as a dedicated employee of Kelly Tractor. His love of football was expressed through his commitment to the SGFOA (South Gulf Football Officials Association). Mike had a lifelong love for aviation and enlisted with the United States Air Force. His military service included combat duty in Vietnam as a Loadmaster on the C-130 Cargo Plane and he advanced to the rank of Staff Sergeant. After returning to civilian life, he became a pilot with an instructor rating. He also loved riding his Harley with his buddies but time with his family and grandchildren were his most precious hours.

He is survived by his loving mother; his loving wife of 47 years, Loretta; son, Aaron (Jennifer) of Fort Myers Beach, daughter Amy (Rick) Ryan of Brandon, Florida, brother James (Betsy) Brown of Concord, NC, sister Anne (Greg) Haight of Spencerport, NY, four grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful friends who were so supportive during Mike's illness. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908, or the .

A gathering of friends and family will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Blessed Pope John 23rd Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30.
