THOMAS EDWARD MULLING

Thomas Edward Mulling, 77, passed away December 11, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents Channie and Mary Mulling; brother Kenneth Mulling and sister June Peterson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Shelbie Mulling; son Tom (Cheri) Mulling of Lehigh, Fl.; daughter Tammy Harrington (Joe) of Maryville, TN; grandchildren Trey and Tanner Mulling and Connor, Abigail and Hayden Jane Harrington. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Ballenger (Rex); brother Bobby Mulling (Pat), sister-in-law Donna Mulling and several nieces and nephews. Tom was born in Collins, GA but moved with his family to the Bradenton area as a young child. After graduating from Manatee High School in 1954, he joined the United States Army and served honorably with the 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper. At the conclusion of his military service he moved to Fort Myers and began a 37 year career with Florida Power and Light. Over the years he was involved in many organizations including the Fort Myers Rebels, North Olga Planning Panel and Ole Timers Antique Club. He loved to talk, tell stories and was especially proud of his family. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and delighted in all of their accomplishments and activities. A Memorial Service will be held February 16, 2013 at Sonshine Church and Academy, 12925 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida. The family will receive friends between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. with the service to follow.
