William "Bill" Weber, 68, of Murphy, NC died Friday, July 26, 2013. He was a native of Brooklyn, NY, but had lived in Lee County, FL before moving to Murphy in 2009. He had served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. Bill was a police officer for the New York Police Department and had worked for the Lee County, FL Sheriff's Department and the Florida Department of Corrections for 33 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Honor of Legion. He was of the Catholic faith.

He was the son of Amelia Sprenkel Weber of Brooklyn and the late John Weber. Also survived by a dear Uncle Herman Sprenkel of Brooklyn.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Kathleen Knoebel Weber; a daughter; a son; two step-daughters, Krista Scott and husband, Mike of Fort Myers, FL and Heidi Lampman of Murphy; a step-son, Steve Ollenburg and wife, Robin of Houston, TX; two brothers, Kenneth Weber & wife Beverly of New York and Jim Weber & wife Angela of NJ; and seven step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
