Susan R. Joslin-Muller, 48, of Fort Myers Beach, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Hallwangen, Germany. Formerly of Nashville, IN, she had been a resident of Fort Myers Beach since 1984. She was born August 30, 1964 in Columbus, IN, the daughter of Hurschell P. and Carol L. (née Dobbs) Joslin. Susan Joslin-Muller, principal at Susan Muller Interior Design, was a highly respected designer working mainly in the Naples, Ft. Myers and Sanibel-Captiva area. Susan earned her Bachelors of Art degree from Edison Community College and received her NCID and ASID training and certification in Florida. Susan began her career in 1989 at Collins and Dupont. With her partner Kelly Vince, the design firm Vince Muller was established in 1998. In 2009, Susan established Susan Muller Interior Design. Susan worked mainly on high-end large-scale projects and had a special talent for adding architectural interest to her interiors. Susan has been the recipient of numerous national and regional awards including three national Aurora Awards and a Naples Illustrated Design of Distinction award. Her work has been featured in Florida Architecture, Gulf Shore Life, At Home and Naples Illustrated. Susan was wedded to Keith Muller in December of 1995. Their wedding on Fort Myers Beach exemplified Susan's relaxed yet elegant approach to entertaining. She was an accomplished cook and a generous host who had a gift to make all she did appear effortless. Their daughter Samantha was born in January of 2001. She was a devoted mother who always nurtured Samantha's creative side. Susan was an avid outdoors woman and enjoyed with her family boating, skiing and tennis. Ms Joslin-Muller is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Keith R. Muller; her beloved daughter, Samantha Muller; her parents, Hurschell and Carol Joslin; sister, Pam (Chris) Snyder; brothers, Cub Joslin, Tim (Vicki) Joslin and David (Carrie) Joslin; and many other family members and dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, January 4, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Beach United Methodist Church, 155 Bay Road, Fort Myers Beach.
