Gladys Griner of Ft. Myers joined her loved ones with the Lord early on March 25th 2014. Gladys would have turned 97 on May 25th. She is preceded in death by her Husband J.N. and brothers Harry, Harl, and M.D. Pipkins and sisters Myrtice Gilbert, Alean McDonald, and Laurine Thompson. She is survived by her Son Billy Griner and wife Norma, Granddaughter Adele Gustafson and her husband Tim of Bradenton. Grandson Kerry Griner of Ft. Myers, Granddaughter Cheri Hoese and husband Shawn (and their children Aaron and Lauren Hoese) of Bloomington MN, Grandson Shawn Griner of Minneapolis MN, Granddaughter Jeanie Drum of Ft. Myers. Also surviving are Great grandchildren Chad Gustafson (and his children Grace and Ryan) of Bradenton, Kelsey and Robert Mortenson of Sneads Ferry NC, Kyle Griner USN stationed in Hawaii, Katilyn Lavosi of Ft. Myers. Her loving Niece Joan Wade and husband Bill of Lehigh, and her children Shane Ogden and family of McDonough Ga and Brandi Ogden and Bailei of Ft. Myers. Gladys was born to Ira and Minnie Pipkins in Cairo, Georgia on May 25th 1917. Gladys married J.N. Griner and moved to Ft. Myers in 1932. They raised one son Billy who attended school in Ft. Myers Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt and great great grandmother as well as a care giver for many children belonging to family as well as friends. Gladys was a God fearing woman who never had a drink in her life, never smoked and never even attended a movie. The joy of her life was her family and she shared her love every day of her life. The entire family loved to hear her stories of the "old days" and these stories will be shared for generations to come. Everyone in her family believes that Gladys tried to do the right thing in every facet of her life. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm, Friday, March 28, 2014 with funeral services 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL.
