SCHENECTADY, NY - Carmel T. Roberson, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Civitello.

Carmel was a strong-willed, determined, independent and generous person. She shared her love of traveling with her children and grandchildren. Carmel enjoyed music and encouraged her family to pursue their musical talents.

Along with her parents, Carmel will be at rest and enjoy eternal happiness with her siblings Frank (Grace) Civitello, Katherine (Nicholas) Suraci and Josephine (James) Varno.

She will be missed by her daughters Holly (Matthew) Gray and Noelle (Marcus Benoit) Marie; grandchildren Sarah Gray, Jeremy Gray and Erin Gray; sister Anna (the late John)Bracken; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ingersoll Place, Albany Medical Center B3 West, Dr. Carrie Carsello and PA Tom Russo for their outstanding efforts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 am at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 1241 State Street, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady.
