Born in rural Randolph county North Carolina, Jack was the youngest of seven children born to Herman and Stella Lowe Johnson. At the urging of a fellow serviceman, Jack moved to Florida in search of work following his service in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. While working as an ironworker in Miami, Jack met and married Audrey, his wife of 56 years.

In the fall of 1961 Jack moved his family to Immokalee where he would become a local legend in the farming community. He was a well respected man known for his strong work ethic, intense dedication and his ability to fix almost anything. Jack had a lifelong love of the outdoors, hunting, motorcycles and stock car racing.

Jack was preceded in death by all of his siblings, his wife Audrey and his long time friend, employer and business partner Johnny. He is survived by one son Jack and his wife Ann; one granddaughter Carissa Burdette her husband Dan and their daughter Amaryn; one grandson Clint Johnson, his wife Myra and their son Josiah; numerous nieces and nephews and a large number of people forever changed by his life and work.

A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon November 12th at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Immokalee.
