Allen Lee Householder went to be with the Lord on November 11th. Allen was born on March 24, 1940 in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Myers in 2005.
Allen leaves the love of his life, his wife Jere, and two precious daughters, Molly Le Phennicie and Jere Le Householder, Jr. Also, son in law James Phennicie and future son in law, Jeff Lambert. Grandchildren are Eric Phennicie and Elizabeth Le Phennicie.
Allen worked for Duquesne Light Company in Pittsburgh and Beaver Valley, Pennsylvania. After retiring in 1999, he became a Business Manager on environmental projects for various electric utilities in New York, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Allen had a special place in his heart for the poor and homeless. He and Jere volunteered weekly at Salvation Army's Meals with Compassion program, where meals are served every evening for anyone in need. Many of these people became friends and Allen started a bicycle ministry for them. He, along with his dear friend John Zenner, acquired bicycles and repaired them. They were blessed to have given away over 200 bicycles.
A celebration of Allen's life will be held on November 19th at First Church of the Nazarene. His family will greet guests from 1 to 2 PM with the service to begin at 2 PM.
One of Allen's greatest joys was occasionally providing special meals for the homeless. If you would like to honor Allen's life, the family suggests a contribution to continue making this possible. Contributions can be sent to First Church of the Nazarene, 13545 American Colony Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33912. Please mark them "Allen's Meals for the Homeless".
