After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Harvey Marks died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Joanne's House of Hope Hospice. Harvey was born in Manchester, England on November 23, 1942 and was raised in London, England. He immigrated to the United States via Canada during the early 1960's. After immigrating to the United States he found a home in South Florida where he attended Miami Dade Junior College. Harvey had a long and successful career in business resulting in a retirement from Westinghouse Communities in 1998.
In 1967 Harvey met the love of his life, Anne Wolfer, while living at North Miami Beach, Fl. The couple wed on August 2, 1969 in a private ceremony on Miami Beach. Mr. & Mrs. Marks lived in the Miami, FL area until 1991. The family moved to Southwest Florida where they have continue to reside.
Harvey & Anne became parents to their daughter, Rachael, on May 5, 1971 and welcomed their son, Steven, into the family on June 2, 1975. Harvey was a devoted father always putting his children's interests ahead of his own comfort. He was an avid historian, enjoying many trips across our country to visit Civil War battlefields and reenactments. Since Harvey & Anne's marriage, Harvey found joy in keeping fish tanks with tropical fish. During his battle with cancer Harvey could no long care for his fish and generously donated his 75 gallon fish tank to a local Cape Coral High School.
Harvey was survived by his loving wife, Anne Marks, his daughter Rachael & son-in-law Darrell, son Steven & daughter-in-law Jennifer, 3 grandchildren, Jonathon, Jamie and Kodi and sister Bernice. He will be greatly missed by not only his family, but his large circle of friends. Harvey will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving man.
