JUDITH L. HARMON
The Guest Book is expired.
9/11/1931 - 3/29/2013
Judith (Judy) L. Harmon was an avid photographer and business woman. Her passion for photography led her to find the love of her life, husband Richard A. Harmon. One of her best stories was telling how, while in attendance at Ohio University, she met Richard in the darkroom and decided to see what developed. Their union produced a marriage of 58 years,
3 children, 8 grandchildren and a long career in photography.
Judy and Richard moved to Fort Myers in 1955 from Ohio and started one of the largest family owned photography chains in the country - Harmon Photo. She was always willing to share her knowledge and love for photography, teaching not only her children and customers but also students at local schools/colleges. She believed that photography was not just a hobby, but also a means of capturing memories.
Judy not only loved photography but also had a passion for sports. She was the President of the Ft. Myers Pop-Warner in the '80s, and you could always find her cheering on the Miami Dolphins, her own Ohio U Bobcats, and of course she was front and center at any of her own children's games or events.
On March 29, 2013, Judy left our world, but will never leave our hearts and memories. She is survived by her loving husband Richard, her children; Jim Harmon (Linda), Karen Prussey (Tom) and David Harmon (Julie) and grandchildren Robert (Stephanie), Laura, Daniel, Elizabeth, Mathew, Holley, Tommy and Joey.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 11:30am at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida 33913 under the direction of Father Robert Browning. For more information, please call (239)334-4880.
