Virginia Conrady Miller, 89, died March 29, 2013 after a 25 year struggle with Parkinson's Disease. She grew up in Morrison, IL in a farming family. Her desire for education and adventure led her to leaving the farm to attend Northern Illinois University, but World War II prevented her from completing her home economics 4-year degree. Wanting to experience big city living, she moved to Chicago where she married and later moved into suburbia and raised their daughter. She was always reading and learning throughout her life. Church was a priority, too, and her bible was always at her bedside
Later she was blessed with a 38 year marriage to Roy Miller, who survives her. They enjoyed early retirement, golfing, bowling, playing tennis and other activities in the Ft. Myers area. Most important to them were children (5), grandchildren (8), great-grandchildren (9), great-great grandchild (1) and many, many friends. Virginia leaves behind a legacy through her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Rolf Schilling, their son, Kurt, and his wife, DeAnna, and daughter, Lilly. Also surviving her are the families of Jeff Miller (Wonder Lake IL), Randy Miller (Salida, CO), Brad Miller (who preceded Virginia in death) (Elgin, IL), and Russell Miller (Orlando, FL area). Virginia was also preceded in death by her brother, James. Her sister, Bernita, survives her and resides in the Conrady home town of Morrison, IL.
Virginia did not want any "fuss" on her demise, but the family would like to honor her and invites you to join them in a memorial service at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2691 NE Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33909, on April 30 at 1:30. Memorials may be made to the church or the American Parkinson's Disease Association
