Henrietta Start Figlewski was united with her Savior Jesus Christ on July 1, 2013. Born on February 13, 1916, she lived a full life giving back to her community through the United States Service Commission, The National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, Order of Eastern Star, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Henrietta was born in Athenia, New Jersey to Jay William and Jessie Alling Start. She was the only sister to William, Lewis, and Stephen Start who are all predeceased .She married Stanley Raymond Figlewski and raised a daughter and a son, Sharon Figlewski and Stanley A Figlewski in Orange, Connecticut. She was a 1935 graduate of West Haven High School in Connecticut. She attended Yale University where she completed Advance drafting, tool design, and engineering drawing. After working ten years as a mechanical drafts woman and 22 years as a clerk for the US Postal Service, she retired to Cape Coral, Florida with her husband. She was an active member in The First Congregational Community Church of Cape Coral.
Henrietta is preceeded in death by her parents, brothers, husband and one grandson, Anthony a Delmonico. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Sharon Figlewski of Cape Coral, Fla and grandson, Salvatore Delmonico of East Haven, Connecticut., her son, Stanley A Figlewski and wife, Debbie of Rocky Mount, NC and grandsons, Stash Figlewski and wife, Krissy of Wilmington, NC, Andrew Figlewski of Rocky Mount, NC, Jason Clayton and wife, Nicole of Apex, NC, granddaughter, Ashley Joyner and husband, Phillip. Great grandchildren are: Jackson Figlewski, Micah Joyner, Afton Joyner, Bristol Joyner, Cayden Joyner and Jude Clayton.
A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday July 5, 2013 at First Congregational Community Church of Cape Coral, 312 Santa Barbara Blvd 33991, with Rev. Dr. Dewey Gierke officiating. The family will receive friends for viewing one hour prior to service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Community Church of Cape Coral.
