Born January 24th, 1926 to Kathleen and Walter Ritter, Ruth "Ruthie" Hart lived in Toledo, Ohio for the first eighty years of her life. After graduating in 1935 from Notre Dame Academy, a local all-girls school, Ruthie went to work at The Toledo Blade, a regional newspaper, where she was happily employed for thirty-two years before retiring. During that time she met her future husband, Karl "Bizz" Hart. At thirty-four and thirty-two years respectively, Bizz and Ruthie were wed, and together they were life long members of Bethel Lutheran Church. Their marriage lasted for fifty-five loving years, ended only by Bizz's passing in 2006.
Ruthie is also proceeded in death by her brother Bud Ritter and her sister Lois Ritter. Surviving Ruthie are her sister Helen Sarlo, her sister-in-law and good friend Ruth Hart, her close cousins Marilyn Tabert and Pat Tabert. A private service was held in Fort Myers on July 29th, 2013, and in accordance with her wishes, Ruthie will be buried at a later date in Toledo next to her husband. In Ruth's memory, the family asks that donations be made to Hope Hospice.
