Alton "A.T." Joyce

September 23, 2013

Our beloved father and husband Alton "A.T." Joyce passed away on Sept 23, 2013. Born on May 4, 1921 he lived 92 beautiful years devoting his life to God, family, and country. A.T. graduated from Jesuit high school, Tampa FL, in 1941 where he was a leader of the Jesuit football team. A sought after athlete, A.T. returned home turning down numerous top-tier college offers to care for family after the unexpected passing of a loved one. A.T. is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Edna "Teddy" Joyce. A.T. leaves 5 kids, 7 grand kids, and 2 great grand kids to mourn his loss. A.T. served on a P.T. boat during WWII followed by 38 years as a postal letter carrier retiring in 1984 after which he and his wife were owners of the local Kirby vacuum office for 50 years. In lieu of flowers A.T. asks that donations be made to the Evangelical Christian School Athletic Department Memorial Fund at Bank of America. Join the family to celebrate A.T.'s life at Lake Lawn Condo's recreation center, 1830 Brantley Road Fort Myers, on October 5th from 1-4 pm.
