In Memory of My Beloved Husband

Robert Edward DePew

September 20, 1918 - March 30, 2013

On the anniversary of my beloved husband joining his loved ones with the Lord. We miss you every day and love you always.

We are saddened to announce that Robert E. DePew passed away quietly in his 94th year at his residence in San Carlos Park, Fort Myers, Florida on March 30th, 2013.

Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, he was a graduate of the Poughkeepsie High School Class of 1936 and a World War II Navy veteran (1943-45). Robert spent his work life in the printing trade as a type setter and Linotype operator at the Poughkeepsie Journal and later the Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette newspapers.

"Robbie" was a lifelong member of the International Typographical Union, VFW, American Legion, as well as a Mason and avid golfer.

He was a loving, caring, and considerate husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and beloved uncle who showed us all how to live a good life and enjoy everything it offered. He is sorely missed.

Robert is survived by his wife of 71 short years, Claire M. DePew; two sons, Douglas and Donald; two granddaughters, Katrina Gay and Emily DePew; and twin great granddaughters, Alexandra and Danielle Gay.
