Mark Shepherd Obituary

Mark "Evan" Shepherd was born on January 7, 1988 in Livonia, Michigan to his parents Mark Robert Shepherd and Patricia Sala. He passed away on Saturday, January 25th, 2015 in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Evan's survivors include his parents; brother Tristan Shepherd; sister Lauren Harkins; step father Larry Aguilar; grandparents Rosalie Sala, Frank (Beth) Shepherd, Chere (William) Wasco; aunts and uncles Maribeth (Patrick) Sala-Gietzen, Christopher (Jennifer) Sala, Gregory (Anna) Sala, Melanie Shepherd, Kimberly Shepherd, Christine (Daniel) Muenzer, Kathi (Joseph) Marchese and Jim Shepherd; cousins Daniel, Christian, Jamie, Nureyev, Ian, Chelsea, Savannah, Analise, Matthew, and Louis. Evan is preceded in death by his grandfather Louis Sala.
Evan attended Northville Public Schools and is a graduate of Canton High School, Michigan. He earned four Varsity Letters in Cross Country and Track and Field. In continuing his education, he became a Rosa and Raymond Parks Pathways to Freedom Alumni and obtained his Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Communication at the Northern Michigan University. Evan was also a proud member of the Alpha Sigma Phi, Delta Beta Chapter and the Lee County DEC and Democratic Black Caucus. Evan succeeded in all of his endeavors and became a Graphic Artist/ Web Developer at I Partner Media, Inc. in Estero, FL.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Evan's life will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers 13411 Shire Lane, Ft. Myers, FL 33912 from 1 PM - 3 PM. Because of Evan's love of children, art and diversity, Evan's family is suggesting memorial contributions be sent to The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools in lieu of flowers. A memorial fund will be established in Evan's name to award a scholarship to a deserving student and establishment of an arts grant.
